Streets, Roads and Paths Northumberland County Council is the authority reponsible for roads, streets, rights of way etc. Tynedale Council is responsible for cleaning, weeding etc. The main roads through Mickley have been resurfaced recently but many of the minor roads, paths and pavements are in a poor state of repair. One of the worst areas is West Mickley, where pre-war concrete surfacing is in a poor state of repair. Limited parking facilities in the village also concerns the residents. A list of the main concerns was sent to Tynedale and Northumberland Councils. Some minor repairs, improvements to signage, road markings etc. have taken place, but more long-term improvements await funding from the County Council. The need for a light controlled crossing in Mickley Square remains a high priority.
