This map of the late 19th Century shows the village now called High Mickley. This is an ancient settlement which can be traced back to the middle ages (see 'Micalee - A Northumberland villlage' by Ivan Seymour). Much of the housing can still be identified today. The school and smithy are now houses. Some new housing has been built. ________________
