Riding Mill Station threatened by possible government cutbacks |

Recent reports have put Riding Mill station on a hit list for possible closure or reduction in train services. It now appears that it is too late for starting the closure process for this year. However it is likely the Government will come back next year with similar proposals. To stop this happening it will be essential for passengers to make their voices heard. |

Many people are aware now that the growth in rail passengers is a positive reaction to growing pollution and the increased congestion on roads like the A1 Western Bypass. The lack of policy direction on environmental issues by the current Government is all too obvious.
